After all
I’m not that good with words
if I couldn’t make you understand what I felt.
if I could materialize dreams,
shape them like wax,
to explain my world to you—
an unsent letter.
a breath held in,
the shadow in my eyes
when they look at you and then look away.

if I could draw out heartbeats,
make them visible,
you’d realize they still carry your name
in every pause,
in every silent acceleration.

but I don’t know how to use words,
only how to write about absence.
