Founders

Westinghouse Electric Corporation was an American company founded in 1886 by George Westinghouse. It had a long history of manufacturing electrical equipment, radar, power plants, and aircraft engines. In 1995, the company acquired the CBS media group and continued to operate as CBS Corporation since 1997. Most of Westinghouse's non-media divisions were gradually sold to other companies. In 1996, the company's defense electronics division was sold to Northrop Grumman Aerospace, which now operates as a separate company under the name Northrop Grumman Electronics Systems.
