Here’s a good example of unnecessarily negative. There’s valid feedback here—you’re not doing a good enough job highlighting all of the developers in the ecosystem / perception of picking favorites—without resorting to a bunch of drivel. You wouldn’t speak like this to someone you’ve never met in-person, so why do it on the internet?

Hah yeah I know the type. There was once a GitHub comment with an entire paragraph dedicated to belittling the skills of the developers who wrote the code. At the last line was some useful input feedback. People need to think a bit more when typing feedback. Myself included. I can also be unnecessarily negative.
