It's wild that you can't "try before you buy" with real estate. I feel like all houses, whether renting or buying, should come with a staged, 14-day trial period.

fr fr, taking out a loan before i spent my first night in the house was a leap of faith that left a bad taste, we visited the neighborhood at least 10+ different times before closing but still had no real idea if we should expect quiet nights, neighbors partying, dogs barking, early morning lawnmowers, whatever.

lmao yes the steelman is "do you want the damn house or not"? im sure you could try telling a seller/landlord that your purchase/rental is contingent on a trial period but you'd lose out on most-or-all opportunities that way

Is there a steal man for the leap of faith approach? There must be otherwise it seems obviously bad.
