It’s definitely bad. I’m not sure if it is worse. I wasn’t around for the 2017 ico stuff but that seemed pretty bad.

I'm a lot more optimistic about the tech than I was back then - because most things I wished for has come to pass! (or will soon) Back then, it was just armchair blogger hopium. At the same time, I'm also more pessimistic about crypto culture which has continued its nosedive. (Wasn't good then, only gotten worse)

I think part of the reason for the accuracy is that Vitalik was an early fan of them and so this vision influenced him and Ethereum's trajectory
