I haven’t seen it yet but have read the reviews. I will watch it; it reminds me of 2 movies I often reference as to the influence social media is having in people’s everyday’s life: The Social Dilemma, which includes a fictionalized subplot where a teenager named Ben is gradually radicalized by social media. The film illustrates how algorithms push increasingly extreme content to keep users engaged, leading Ben to fall into an online echo chamber of conspiracy theories and political extremism. This subplot highlights the real-world dangers of algorithm-driven misinformation and its impact on young, impressionable users. And The Great Hack a documentary about the Cambridge Analytica scandal, exploring how personal data was harvested from social media to influence elections and political opinions. It focuses on the impact of data manipulation in events like the 2016 U.S. presidential election and Brexit.
