We could live for 20,000 years?! That's the spirit!

Why do you say that if aging was delayed or eliminated? i would love to live 1000 years (with an option out if wanted) if my body's aging was delayed. So much more time to do stuff and live several lives.

If you live that long, you can invest and your income would grow and then you wouldn't need to work for a living. I wouldn't even have thought of that.

that's an illusion our tax rates/money value is calculated based in the fact that we can only live up to 110 years. This guarantees we have a slowly growing number of alive people, IF we lived 1000 years, we would expect to coexist with 10x more people than we do. How would you fit 70 billion in this earth? Do you really think they wouldn't make you work? Social status wouldn't change. Only our timeline/perspectives of time. brazilian yearly 10% APR rate wouldn't be enough to catch up with how much money we would need to print. poverty would be on the rise, water would be over. air would be dirty, trees would be down. We would just see the end of the world with our own eyes

You are thinking of it in a literal way that EVERYONE would also live to be 1000 years. If that technology existed it would only be a select few who would have the ability to do so. I'm sure I wouldn't be one of them either, but hey, it's fun to fantasize about it. It's always interesting to hear people's response to that question - if you could live for 1000 years, would you want to? More people say no then yes (for various reasons), which always surprises me. I'll tag @thecurioushermit as we started discussing this in her tavern today.
