#TBT to one of my first big projects being self-employed in 2014 in LAAX for MINI x Burton European Open (prev. BEO)

To this date, this is one of the projects I love to reference.

For one of the largest snowboarding contests in the world, we built a showroom for MINI – and I was the producer.

We flew 2 oversees containers to the top of the mountain with a helicopter in the world famous ski and snowboard resort LAAX Meetings & Events.

We built out a custom showroom and made some of the greatest memories along the way.

It's a different type of pressure that shapes you for life – when trucks, gondolas, car deliveries, weather, dozens of people and more are dependent on your planning abilities and everything has to be in sync to make this happen.

This is it, my personal proud moment from my early days being self-employed.If I remember correctly, this was one of the last events I produced for a client. 

After this, I went straight into web design, content creation and worked with some iconic music magazines for the German market. Everything since has been very much focused on digital productions with a lot more screen time. 

Little did I know back then, that hosting and producing events would go full circle in 2024, a decade later with @nounstown.eth

Some things I learned from this that I found to carry truth ever since to create and foster spaces for high pressure and performance environments:

1. Intentionally selected sweet snacks will always de-escalate a tense situation
2. Make sure to rip a joke while you're in those moments and acknowledge that "this is what we all knew was going to happen"
3. lean into each others strengths
4. take photos, because you're making memories that will live in your head forever. you want to be able to share them (11+ years later lol)
