We need a protocol similar to Farcaster that can serve as home for all the new music being produced worldwide. Imagine all the cool music clients that devs could build. Seems like the only way to truly break free from the monopolistic control exercised by Spotify, YouTube, Apple, and major record labels.

Is spinamp.xyz the closest thing we have to this?

My suggestion was for Sound and Catalog to be the clients that are built on top of a single protocol. In that scenario, Spinamp would be another client that would directly compete with the others.

Ok, I see. Reading the other comments, it seems to come down to storage. I don't have an intelligent answer.

Spinamp is cool though, same with Future Tape.
