The fundamental issue with consumer crypto today is lack of consumers. 

Consumers need interesting or entertaining content to stick around.

Sign ups are irrelevant if you can’t retain them.

Everything else is a marginal improvement at best.

if you make a fart sound and they don't laugh that's not good

if you keep trying to talk to them and they don't respond it'd be rude to continually persist

if you try to approach every single person at the party and give them the same compliment you won't be invited back

Fair. However, those are spoken/unspoken rules of social engagement that people learn over a lifetime of trail and error, mimicing, and explicit instructions.

I literally had to tell my five year-old at a party to not lick his friend. 

The vibe around here this week is that no one understands where the line is because the line between organically growing your account and reaching out to new people and being "spammy" is quite thin. 

I get the kind of explicit spammy behavior that they are trying to target, but at the moment the vibe is that people are wary to post or engage at all for fear of a shadow ban because they had "too long" of a conversation or said hello to 7 new people, when the correct number was 6.

Yeah I get that. But the vibes this week are that people feel afraid to cast or reply because they are terrified of triggering a shadow ban.

Its definitely a bind. But rough guidelines help. 

It also concerns me because I often worry that English speakers (myself included) knee jerk label something as spam or a bot, when really its someone who wants to join our conversation, and is doing it all though Google Translate.

If someone is working twice as hard as I am to be part of the conversation, I absolutely don't want to accidentally discriminate against them because their replies sound a little clunky.

tbh this is pretty accurate, however if he clearly defines it then botters will know better how to cheat the system.

Just keep the ratio quality/quantity high. You can increase quality, decrease quantity or do both.
