He is indeed. The females are a light brown with a red beak around here. Though apparently in the UK, the males and females are both red.

Oh how interesting. Here they are also light brown. We do a lot of animal rescue and have several permanent residents in our care. Didn't realize UK's are both red. Learn something new everyday!

Oh really? And yes, I was in an X space recently with @michaelhartley. He is from the UK and had never seen a brown female before. I put one of my photos up and he said he had never seen one. He looked it out and it turns out that for whatever reason, cardinals in the UK do not have gendered color dimorphism.
