Why is that? I was having an interesting conversation with someone at @edgecity about the definition of nomads. She thought it was a silly term and we were discussing if there are potential alternatives.

The past 2 years I've lived in new cities in Bogotá, Chiang Mai, and Bangkok with time in between visiting friends and family in the US. I enjoy living in each for a few months at a time.

if “Nomad” is such a silly term to you people 

then don’t use it. just say you travel & love your travel miles or whatever. you don’t have to be little linguistic colonizers while simultaneously being haters

great. this is your sign to stop using it, because there are actual nomads from nomadic blood that are entering the crypto world and THEY / WE are the new & improved authentic precedent and representation for “modern nomad” “crypto nomads”

You shared a good point which is the same one my friend shared about the etymology of the word nomad and it being potentially "silly" for many US and European people like myself to use it. I have thought about their point.

It would be interesting to learn about other forms of nomadism throughout history. Is it specific only to middle east? I wonder if indigenous people of the Americas had a similar word for it.
