Apparently people on twitter are mad at some lady who spends her Saturday mornings in bed, watching tv and learning to make shakshouka I've been making this for years and never even knew it had a name? Always called it "bombay eggs" but it seems I was wrong, it's a Maghrebi dish (and it's really good)

This looks amazing. Must find a recipe and that account.

Normally you'd put sugar in tomato dishes to balance out the acidity, but I like how it contrasts they blandness of the egg yolks There are a lot of recipes but I just do onions, cherry tomatoes + some concentrate, egg in (don't break the yolks!) and cover so they cook all around but stay runny

I’ve been eating shakshuka my whole life, and I’ve never tried putting sugar in! I’ll try it next time, but I personally think it doesn’t need sugar. If you want sweetness, you can make the veg ratio is 2:1:1 onion:tomato:bell pepper.
