Border security being seen as anti immigrant really shows how fucked our immigration system is

makes it really hard to have a genuine conversation when so many people conflate a desire for a secure border with racism

Final more biased and leading question to question this. How often do you advocate for a militarization of our Canadian border and about cracking down on illegal Canadian immigrants by putting immigration checks in more white neighborhoods to Crack down on these illegal immigrants?

Are you willing to submit to immigration checks with soldiers asking you for proof of citizenship to ensure border security or should this be deferred to specific regions and if so, why?

pretty much never, but that's just a consequence of the northern border not being as big of an entryway for immigration that causes public safety concern. if Canada was more socio-economically similar to Mexico and South America, I think the expectation would be the same that being said, if we're going to completely militarize the southern border then we'll likely have to do the same for the northern border otherwise people/contraband will switch to coming in through Canada as far as the checks being in white v. minority neighborhoods, they should be wherever they're needed. the fact they're currently not in white neighborhoods is just a consequence of most immigrants being non-white but aside from immigration you also have things like drugs coming in which don't discriminate based on race imo the vast majority of resources should be allocated at the ~300 points of entry regardless of what the demographics are
