So by this logic, its compassionate to remove social security because senior citizens are just as capable of physical labor as people in their 20's?

Yeah, if your argument is that it's not fair for the young to subsidize the retirement of the older generations because they should be just as capable of physical work as the same youth they're taxing, don't expect lots of people to buy that conservative policies are compassionate.
