It feels more likely that you will lose yourself.

But, if you know who you are, it feels extremely easy to navigate.

The Uber drivers hate you. Every one I talked to hated the people they overheard on their rides. (sample size of 15 rides)

I love the different parts of LA. Every part of it has a different vibe (Venice, Santa Monica, Hollywood, Downtown, Long Beach)

The locals are nicer than the transplants.

Which makes sense because the good ones would never leave Texas lol.

There are very kind people here. It's unfortunate they have to deal with so many that are not.

The kind people are the majority, too. But, a few bad apples and all that...

Everyone I talked to told me to find your tribe in LA.

Which makes sense. On the flip side, I noticed LA is very tribal. Seems like a bit of a catch-22.

In Nebraska, there are only like 12 people. So, your tribe is the state and you can't just move to a different tribe if it doesn't work out or you don't like them.

One time in LA can't do it justice. I've never experienced what I've experienced here in a different city. I'm sure that's the allure to those that crack the code.

But, even if I do crack it, it's probably not for me. To each their own as they say.

I feel bad for anyone that moves here thinking they will find themselves.

Thanks for sharing your observations. I'm a Kansas transplant, though I've now lived here longer than anywhere else and my kids were born here. Every neighborhood definitely has its own vibe and many people lose themselves here.
