Listened on my flight to a great ep w Vanessa Van Edwards, specialist in science-based people skills. This interview is almost a practical guide on how to do networking. A few personal insights: – The most popular kids in school are those who liked a large number of their classmates. Similarly, we become more attractive to others when we like as many people as possible. – Charisma can be scientifically broken down into two components: warmth and competence. – If you consider yourself lucky, you’ll notice more opportunities. If you consider yourself unlucky, you won’t. –Perspective can change our self-perception. For example: “I don’t like people” could become “I’ll find a way to like them.” Or “I’m bad at starting conversations” could turn into “I’ll figure out how to feel more confident.” https://youtu.be/VHUrdELKjDw?si=Nla3FSGltdJTHg34
