LA, how do we feel about this? Reggie’s thoughts on Coachella are reverberating in a couple of text chats I’m in. 

I went to Coachella back in 2016 and I was pleasantly surprised at how well run of a festival it was. There was the toxic Instagram element, but it was only 30% of the festival. 

I wonder if it’s grown to take over the festival.

This very well could be true too. Or maybe a mix of both. Reminds me of the SoundCloud rap vs OGs debate many years ago.

I've never been to Cochella, but basically every great event I've ever been to was scattered with old people complaining how the event used to be better, lacking the self awareness to realize that it was better because they were younger back then, and maybe the event isn't really for them anymore.

yes - it has definitely grown

every show i go to (festival or not) feels dominated by people on their phone instead of people enjoying the moment  

weekend 2 coachella has always had less of this than weekend 1, but still got worse over the years
