requiring a power badge (issued in an opaque manner by a centralized authority) to access a "decentralized" service is the antithesis of what i thought farcaster was supposed to stand for.

warpcast can use the badge all they want! (and, they do; my engagement is down ~40% since i lost mine)

other clients should not.

A few things worth corecting.

1. Power badge is not required at the protocol; it's a Warpcast feature that we offer as an API for other apps. They have freedom to use or not use.

2. People don't want to see uninteresting accounts. So we offer a) who you follow and who follows you b) power badge. Again, on Warpcast.

I understand the aim of the power badge but since it’s adoption my warpcast usage has significantly dropped. I see the same casts every time I open the app & get no engagement. 

Admittedly I likely post about uninteresting topics as I find my fit but I’ll Always Be Casting (ABC) even if no one cares!! 😂🪒💈
