A few things worth corecting. 1. Power badge is not required at the protocol; it's a Warpcast feature that we offer as an API for other apps. They have freedom to use or not use. 2. People don't want to see uninteresting accounts. So we offer a) who you follow and who follows you b) power badge. Again, on Warpcast.

i appreciate the thoughtful response, Dan. my biggest qualm is that the system obviously needs to be improved. it filters out a lot of great accounts and filters in many ~useless accounts we can certainly disagree on criteria, but if i thought the system worked better, i wouldn’t be nearly as frustrated about it.

maybe i'm missing sth, but corr #1 makes it look like @downshift.eth's suggesting that pb is indeed required while he's just reacting to @v ideating a new service. anyway, i know we can build our own client, but when one of the most prolific builders on fc loses a pb on de facto standard client, confidence is shaken.

It's still a terrible system that is robbing your own platform of much more content while promoting cliques and a sort of digital caste system - which is slowly killing community. I've commented so many times on your posts and you probably don't even see them because of this terrible system.

“People” and “uninteresting” is stupid subjective. “People” can choose who to interact with and who to mute. You’ve created a caste system that maintains a status quo that doesn’t need to exist.

For someone new, I will say the power badge system has been frustrating because there is no clear path to earning one. I joined Warpast to share what I’m building for Onchain Summer. It’s kind of annoying that I paid to be able to post in the Base channel but my posts get removed from Recent.

I understand the aim of the power badge but since it’s adoption my warpcast usage has significantly dropped. I see the same casts every time I open the app & get no engagement. Admittedly I likely post about uninteresting topics as I find my fit but I’ll Always Be Casting (ABC) even if no one cares!! 😂🪒💈
