I have no problem w Remi losing weight. I have a problem with her building a platform on body positivity, then got surgery and pretended like it was all diet, blocked people asking about the rapid weight loss, and then went on a kardashian podcast to talk about it. I view influencers as businesses. Remi as a human owes people nothing. Remi’s platform as a business owes a statement. Unfortunately for her I think she’s going to lose most of her following and she isn’t going to figure out what content to pivot to. And sadly if she gains all the weight back I don’t think anyone is going to trust her again.

10000% agree not to mention she was given brand sponsorships and paid based on her # of followers which were made up of a significant % of plus size followers who now feel alienated by her based on the way she handled this.

agree with both of you. she’s free to do what’s best for her but the lack of transparency destroyed trust with her audience. influencers ARE businesses and she had not one but TWO product lines designed specifically to be inclusive of plus size women. wonder what those brands are thinking now.
