genuine question: how did U2 become like the biggest band in the world (iTunes releases, Sphere residency, etc) when i (and a lot of people i ask) can’t really name more than two songs? disclaimer: with or without you is a good song

They were really popular in the 80s and then tried to have that revival with the automatic iTunes download. That was probably just a partnership that flopped. The sphere residency is surprising but seems like they’re targeting older crowds with those shows like they did with dead and co and the upcoming Backstreet Boys residency
