key word being /primary/ -- i love money but it's not what brought me here or why i keep showing up. this isn't a job; it's rewarding work.

to be fair, not everyone is in the same financial position, for some people even if it's to their detriment, there may be a focus on money because it occupies their headspace constantly as a source of stress, all that being said, I agree that if that is not the primary motivator, you will likely make more money and have more fun

yep. I completely get that. I've lived paycheck to paycheck, I know the drill. But depending, financially, on a virtual machine subject to untelegraphed changes (degen, moxie, etc) in a social context that is also rapidly changing.... ooof... Too much risk and too little control for my taste. That circumstance won't produce the right kind of stress either. Sounds hellish.

yes, you are not wrong, and I think that is the challenge with so many of the artists I know who struggling mentally in the on-chain environment, they have set themselves up with expectations in an ever changing and very challenging world, it’s hard to depend on this space financially, I’d love to do so, but never saw that as viable option. I’ve seen too many artists hit a wall. If it is to work for me financially, it would have to be after laying a 5-10 year foundation. I’m being very patient in my approach, and I am an optimist, but I feel for those I know who struggle.

Make no mistake: building a good Farcaster profile with strong and stable earning potential should be treated as a small business, with all the costs and trappings considered. That is, if you want to depend on it as income. Everyone else can just vibe and make money... which kinda works better than building on so much sand atm. Creatives of all types should build their bully pulpit /first/ -- then commercialize via sales or service. But don't ask for money until people have started offering it. That takes time and sweat equity.
