Interesting, and it makes me wonder what type of materials they could use to print ones that are flexible. I do find the design to be hideous and wearing shoes in this shape with a sole like that is terrible for your feet (like most mainstream shoes). I've only worn minimalist shoes for the past 8 years, so this is the exact opposite of that. 😂  I am interested in shoe design and manufacture though as I had the chance to make a pair of shoes in a shoe workshop 8 years ago. They are turn shoes made of leather and hand-sewn and based on a 10-century Scandinavian design (I call them my viking slippers). Custom-made by me for my own feet, which is rather cool. So if 3D printing could be used to create custom shoes for your feet, that's a really cool idea if the materials could be appropriate. But I think of 3D printing as hard plastic things.
