key word being /primary/ -- i love money but it's not what brought me here or why i keep showing up. this isn't a job; it's rewarding work.

to be fair, not everyone is in the same financial position, for some people even if it's to their detriment, there may be a focus on money because it occupies their headspace constantly as a source of stress, all that being said, I agree that if that is not the primary motivator, you will likely make more money and have more fun

yep. I completely get that. I've lived paycheck to paycheck, I know the drill. But depending, financially, on a virtual machine subject to untelegraphed changes (degen, moxie, etc) in a social context that is also rapidly changing.... ooof... Too much risk and too little control for my taste. That circumstance won't produce the right kind of stress either. Sounds hellish.

Exactly. As someone who was sort of relying on degen tips as a PT job earlier this year, I can attest to that. I much prefer a side gig where I earn USD. Any crypto earnings are lucky extras. I also held some (to my detriment - at least right now). As lucky US citizens, we get taxed on airdrops whether we cash them out or not, so that is something to consider. I remember that @cathsimard recommended that you cash out from NFT sales right away and then buy it back if you want to invest (to avoid tax problems). I believe that buying the moxie fan tokens with unvested avoids this. Am I correct?
