Well, I wouldn't need to if it's not alive. In another scenario, with a live tiger, I wouldn't fight it, but tame it. Sooth the savage beast.

I once "tamed" a wild beast in the forest that growled at me (no joke, this happened) by singing to it and then backing away (also picked up a big stick that was conveniently nearby). Not sure what it was, maybe a cougar - never saw it - there was a lot of foliage. Freaked me out. Happened in the forest in British Columbia.
