Lately, my cat stopped eating well — he refused everything except egg yolks and organ meats, and even those only a little. We finally went to the vet, and they quickly figured out the reason: kidney failure. 
They gave him an IV right away to flush out the toxins and recommended a special kidney-friendly food. 

I was so used to him being a picky eater — even the vet said if he won't eat the new food, just stick to whatever he will eat. But the moment I opened the new food, his appetite kicked in and he devoured the whole portion like nothing was wrong. 

I nearly cried. It takes so little to feel happy. There's nothing better than seeing your pet eat when they’ve been sick.

Thank you 🫶  He’d become more sluggish, but we honestly thought it was just because he’s getting old. He was drinking a lot, but it could be due to diabetes. So like with most illnesses - he was more lethargic, grooming less, lost his appetite. The diagnosis came only after the blood test.
