Call me skeptical that Doge and tariffs are going to fix this balance... for the month of February.

Noah Smith’s take on DOGE  was pretty spot on. Notionally DOGE is about cutting government waste, but it’s actually an ideological purge of the federal bureaucracy. 

Any agency and any employee perceived as “woke” is the real target.

Makes a lot more sense in that context, especially since, you know.. DOGE is not congress and doesn’t actually control government expenditure.
