active outreach is not a bad thing. I wouldn't have joined farcaster if people active here hadn't tweeted about stuff going on here. its fine to just hang out here as well, not everyone needs to be an evangelist but cults don't typically grow without them

I feel like targeted outreach is worthwhile. People with large audiences on Twitter or elsewhere have the most to gain by owning those relationships and greater potential for financial income from that audience here on FC. However simultaneously these people the greatest sunk cost from having a large existing audience captured in a corporate network, and so the largest disincentive to switch from platform to protocol. If you can bring these people across you’ll bring more of the conversation across and their audience will follow, especially if they’re not cross posting to Twitter or elsewhere. 1/

This is similar to the current experiment being done with prominent people on Twitter cross posting to FC. However I don’t love this approach. It introduces more interesting content on FC in a low cost way, but there is no incentive for people to come to FC because it’s all cross posts and for creates regular prompts for people already on FC to switch back to Twitter. I think a better approach would be for @purple to setup and manage a fund similar to Protocol Guild that others can tip money into. The fund would be used to pay people with large audiences to cast exclusively on FC for a period of say, 3 months. The amount paid could be determined by the size of their audience. Could use @mazmhussain as an example, run some analysis to determine an expected amount of Moxie per follower per month and pay them the equivalent in USDC. We could ask them to make a post on their current platform explaining where they’ve gone and why. 2/

Sure we might not be able to convince the really big names, but mid tier influencers would be keen to monetise their following I’m sure. Once they start earning income from moxie and degen on top of their payment, get comfortable and start to build an audience here I’m sure many will stick around, as will some of their audience who make the jump. In this way we could also exert some influence protecting and cultivating the culture on FC by deciding who we choose to invite, the type of content they create the audience that may follow them here. 3/3

I land a bit more on the side of "minting new stars" vs. paying people to come over I just think there is value in talking about whats happening here wherever people engage with their networks could be linkedin, twitter, instagram tell the farcaster story! and more targeted, even incentivized onboarding as you describe could be a part of the overall picture
