honestly sometimes these days I do feel like a lot of crypto is smart-looking vaporware propped up by ZIRP VC dollars that need to be allocated

honestly must be rough as a crypto VC, where do you even allocate in good faith?

Or a lot of smaller rounds but that’s basically impossible for a16z/paradigm size funds

ya they wouldnt typically write sub 1m checks, and even that is low

but like, assume they could write 250k checks -- are there even teams/ideas promising enough to pick that up?

sub-thought: i wonder how much firms like a16z are hurting when yc is not feeding the funnel
