gets complex real quick if we gonna try to predict forks, and this is better than no info

its more a matter of time(cost) vs gain for us -- we usually develop features is smaller increments to try out community sentiment and usefulness before investing too much

but if youre keen to hack on a forecast with decay that you think would make more sense i wont stop you! (no promises tho)
