What's your go to mental model for scoping down?

Building something new. Host: /venturecapital /adventures /theitinerant

0. Set a deadline (ideally TODAY)
1. What's the deliverable? (aim SMALL)
2. Realize after an hour it was still too ambitious
3. Count how many pieces you have to make. If >1, kill stuff until there's 1 left or until the mvp literally won't work w/o it.
4. Look at each remaining piece, repeat step 3.
5. Repeat step 4.

Same day deadlines are the way. Even better if you have a teammate on the other side of the globe to make a handoff to.
