First Draft Club

One random but perhaps telling thing about me is I love learning a new game from someone. If it's a game that none of us knows, it's still interesting to figure out together, but it’s particularly fun for me to engage with an “expert” that is motivated to accelerate my understanding (since they already know the game and are waiting on me to be able to play with them).

Not everyone is a good teacher, but I consider myself a good learner. I love asking questions that drive my understanding forward in an efficient manner. Strategy is often learned best from experience, and depending on the game, it can take a few plays.

I’m actually less motivated to master the game (or beat my teacher) than I am to get up and running. I want to get from 0 to 1 as quickly as possible.

Great question. I'd say writing – I'm getting words on the page consistently now but want to dig into the process of editing, refining, expanding, and publishing
