i don't think crypto was ever about privacy (maybe wrong) literally everything is public, if I cared about privacy I wouldn't use a blockchain

imo key has to be that you are in control of what data is shared with each protocol, otherwise it's not crypto. Interoperability doesn't detract from whichever level of privacy you choose to operate at, it just removes the barriers that currently exist between networks.
