Probably food and beaches since I’m taking my parents so they can do much outdoor activities like hiking.

It’s a vacation. We are willing to get out of comfort zone. We typically like to 30% touristy stuff and 70% local experience eg discovering local bar/restaurant spots. Less on outdoor activities since I’m with my parents.

Based on your criteria, I would to the following: Rome, Siena, Florence, Lucca. You don’t need a car, the food in these regions is incredible - Lucca and Siena are very family friendly yet less touristic. A beach option is Giglio Island, which is close by
