A bold suggestion for @jacek & the $DEGEN community: $DEGEN tips should become $tDEGEN to differentiate them from liquid $DEGEN. (This would follow industry norms like AAVE’s aETH or “ve” for vested tokens, etc.) Just gave away 500K $DEGEN in a /yellow contest & many were asking “tips or tokens?” WDYT?

Unnecessary imo. The only way to tip is via a cast afaik. By default we know it’s a tip if it’s in a cast. All for moving tips onchain but that doesn’t need a new ticker symbol either. ✌️

Right but as in my example, we held a contest with a prize pool of 500K $DEGEN and people were asking if it was tokens or tips. Even if 1 $DEGEN tipped = 1 real $DEGEN token eventually, they are still fundamentally different and a separate name would just make that clear.

sounds like a copy change in your cast for the contest would have solved for this. ie "you're holding it wrong" 😁

Maybe so, but you try launching a contest in 140 characters Lol Also there seems to be some confusion with people thinking I’m suggesting tip a should be onchain, I’m not. The AAVE example was just for naming convention. This is just about changing the name of the offchain IOUs.
