What a cluster fuck of a morning. I got an early call about a fire just East of our ranch and it was headed our way. We have 40+ mph winds gusting and we are in the path of the fire but have no power to run our fire suppression pumps (a known shortfall of the system) As the smoke and ash got really bad I left the ranch to check on my aunt & uncle who are 80+, slow moving and under evacuation orders. The fire had jumped from the valley floor up to their hillside neighborhood. Luckily, they were safely out. As I was leaving their street, a woman carrying a small dog flagging me down. Her car wouldn’t start and she was stuck with her 2 dogs and 2 cats. I saw trees in her yard catch on fire as we loaded her pets and one photo album into my car and we sped away. I reunited her with local family and I just want to collapse in a pile of tears ✌️

How did your ranch fare? Glad your are safe now. Had a similar scar a few summers ago. Surreal.

The last report was ok but most EMS has appropriately moved to protecting people & houses. I’m hopeful I can get back over tomorrow. Our employee in the area says some smoke has cleared. But it’s a 14,000 acre fire and 0% contained 😬
