hot take 🔥 you don't need "crypto verifiability" 🙄 YOU NEED VERIFIABILITY, period! and we all need it now! Since ai generated receipts, photos, videos, talks, look pretty damn real!

💯 & cryptography superpowers ‘independent’ verifiability -Proof of integrity → hash ✅ -Proof of existence → timestamped hash (anchored onchain) ✅ -Proof of possession → digital signature ✅ -Proof of ownership → public ledger ✅ primitives for building the future.

Yes, very well said 👍 But these primitives are here for a decade I need them integrated in my phone camera, in my keyboards, in my computer, so it does the invisible job without any cognitive effort on my (or anyone’s end) + it then gets used in algos that build feeds when I want “original only, no AI” — things like these are what we need now 🙏

Agreed and hell yeah we do! Worked on this problem pre covid & one of the big challenges is that the value is in the verify which is often a different actor than the one generating the proof. I think this will play out a bit like SSL did. Unless regulation kicks in & forces it. Early internet high value pages first like shopping carts because it's expensive & slow & now today you cant load a web page in chrome browser without it. Same will happen with content. EVERYTHING will eventually have a proof. The CAI is doing some solid working in this area. https://contentauthenticity.org/

Hmm, good point. Almost forgot about CAI. Honestly I thought more like Apple and camera manufacturers adopting something in that direction (any tech of their choice) and that front running regulation, but you might be right that we’ll have to wait because I see that people claim they “want to know” but they’d do nothing to verify
