During my 2 week vacation I've finished two books: - Yellowface by R.F. Kuang, kindly recommended by @karmentruong. I enjoyed the insights into how the publishing world works most, but found the ending anticlimactic πŸ˜” - The Talented Mr. Ripley by Patricia Highsmith. After the Ripley series I binged the other screen adaptations, so naturally was curious to see which one was closest to the original novel (it's Ripley). Turns out the novel is a beautiful work of writing in itself, left me feeling like I've travelled around Italy 😌 And it's one of the best ventures into the mind of a narcissist I've ever read. Only today did I realise these two books actually have the same premise - both are about a self-invovled, opportunist imposter, who adopts a dead friend's persona. Now I'm curious, what other books do they share this theme with?

Hahah, the ending did lose me a bit too, felt a bit too melodramatic. Super interested in reading The Talented Mr Ripley though! Love a book that’s immersive enough to transport you to another place!
