Why have subscriptions (i.e., recurring payments) not taken off in web3?

Co-Founder sablier.com and open-source developer. I have a broad range of interests, including longevity, epistemology, physics, and psychology.


My ex-competitor to be looked at: yoki.finance. they're trying to make crypto subscriptions happen, but currently their stats are pretty low from what I know.

I make tokens go woosh tadam (peanut protocol)

1. Because I got hired by peanut :)
2. Because "normies" are too afraid to interact with smart contracts.
3. Non-normies preffer streaming like superfluid because:
    a. It's cheaper in terms of gas
    b. It's fancier and more cool
