My 2c on Farcaster vs Warpcast & how it relates to building a multi-client protocol: 🤷‍♂️ Clients don’t always have to read all state or perform all writes. ETH has multiple client types, and FC protocol can too. 🌏 Under this framework, the protocol already has a much richer ecosystem of clients than it gets credit for. All mini-apps (FKA frames) are clients utilizing some combo of FC's social graph, content, associated wallets, DCs...etc. 🌐 I view Warpcast as a hub through which we view & interact with the FC protocol, not some global reference implementation every other clients has to emulate to give or get value. This has already been true for some time now, and rebranding the app to Farcaster just makes it more clear. 🫵 Permissionless data (and to some extent, writes) means anyone can still build any type of client they want, including one has the exact functionality as Warpcast, just like anyone can choose to run/write any ETH client they want. Thx for coming to my TED talk.

amazing chatting with @linda about farcaster mini apps—she walked me through some of the coolest ones and honestly i’m blown away by the creativity. gave me major nostalgia from early facebook messenger games and apps, but this feels way better because farcaster is open—anyone can jump in, build something cool, and instantly tap into the farcaster distribution. that’s so powerful. super pumped to build fully onchain games and apps at the intersection of eigen and farcaster. plus, something about vibing in union square, soaking in all that nyc energy, just hits different.

I am hiring Farcaster devs. As context, I’m the former CTO of Coinbase. While there I drove our transformation from a four asset company (BTC, ETH, BCH, LTC) to the infinite asset backend Coinbase has now. I also championed and led the USDC launch at Coinbase, taking it from $0 to $1. And worked closely with @dwr.eth, who has been a friend for 10+ years. So, if you want to build real crypto products — not gambling, not vaporware — come work with us. I think Farcaster is exceptionally underrated as a protocol and want to use it as the backbone for a new kind of crypto-first school. To motivate: imagine if every problem you solved in college doubled as a portfolio piece — as a *proof-of-learning* NFT added to your public ENS. That would build a new kind of AI-proof verifiable resume. And that is what we want to build on Farcaster. So, come work with us! https://jobs.ns.com/33467

Where we are and where we're going 1. Recently, we've seen a decent increase in daily active users (DAU). Between 200K and 300K users open Warpcast every month. This needs to be 10-100x greater for Farcaster to be sustainable. 2. We've also seen a lot of previously "churned" users reactivate on Farcaster. 3. We've significantly upgraded our developer UX with mini apps (formerly frames) and wallet. 70K+ funded wallets. 4. We've scaled our USDC rewards programs for content, mini apps and invites. $250K+ in USDC rewards and growing. 5. We've introduced a new series of verifications to help developers better understand users on the protocol. Over 150K+ users have at least one verification. 6. We've launched airdrop offers, allowing developers to target Farcaster users who use their apps via mini apps. 7. Snapchain is launching soon. It's a novel, blockchain-like distributed system that will allow us to scale the protocol for the next 10x. 8. We've grown the team by 50% since the start of the year. 1/3
