The Dark Side of Devcon A group of hackers was present at the Devcon venue. They hacked Telegram accounts and wallets, created fake accounts, and, unfortunately, stole my wallet containing about $3,000. Be extremely cautious at such events. Stay vigilant and never store your seed phrase on your phone or laptop. Huge thanks to @willywonka.eth, @voadz and @nounspacetom for their support and kind words. I'm back in the 11111 $SPACE holders club!

Wild. Any idea what the attack path was? Did someone steal your phone or laptop with your seed phrase on it or something? I'm wondering what sort of attacks might be assisted by physical proximity and actually scale in a way that makes sense.

My Telegram account was hacked. They found the seed phrase in my private messages. I have no idea how they managed it. I had 2FA enabled, and my SIM card wasnβt even connected to the phone (I bought a Thai number while Iβm here). Iβve been using Telegram for almost 9 years. I never thought something like this was possible. Somehow, they accessed my Telegram without my number and without entering the code (2FA)

Telegram accounts are generally pretty easy to hack, I get that. Did you log in from your Thai phone? I could see how that would lead to compromise. I've heard of operations where some crew is roaming around with fake access point and a malicious payload in the WiFi auth flow. That's a good way to get at people at conferences. What about the particular attack that targeted you made you think it was someone at the conference. Maybe it was someone you connected to and told your telegram contact info to or something? I know there were a lot of Telegram contacts being made.
