The Dark Side of Devcon  

A group of hackers was present at the Devcon venue. They hacked Telegram accounts and wallets, created fake accounts, and, unfortunately, stole my wallet containing about $3,000.

Be extremely cautious at such events. Stay vigilant and never store your seed phrase on your phone or laptop.

My Telegram account was hacked. They found the seed phrase in my private messages. I have no idea how they managed it. I had 2FA enabled, and my SIM card wasn’t even connected to the phone (I bought a Thai number while I’m here).  

I’ve been using Telegram for almost 9 years. I never thought something like this was possible. Somehow, they accessed my Telegram without my number and without entering the code (2FA)

Wild. Any idea what the attack path was? Did someone steal your phone or laptop with your seed phrase on it or something? I'm wondering what sort of attacks might be assisted by physical proximity and actually scale in a way that makes sense.

yes, at least three more people were affected, mostly in the refi/impact space. through Blockscan and other tools, a group of Korean hackers was identified

I will rise again. Hopefully, I’ll make it to Denver.
