1. accurately assessing these models is tough. 2. i do believe the team will release this model next week (no doubt on that). 3. imo the teamโs rapid model rollout offers far more insights. 4. if true, it will not be the top contender for long (weโll see a better model the following week)

I'm skeptical too. I feel like making this claim while the model is still "training" is pretty optimistic. Grok 1 was kind of underwhelming when it was released, and this claim means X would now be the leader (measured by benchmarks, which aren't perfect) in the space. https://x.ai/blog/grok-1.5
