There was a bug that shook confidence and a mass deleveraging that followed.

A bug with balance reporting made everyone's balance look like it was going down even if you had positive income

devs put a temp fix in to distribute degen rewards in chunks, but balances still showed as going down for at least a week, and you would still be liquidated if you hit zero

an unsubbing cascade ensued

Previous bugs caused many farmers, Alts and Sybils out, but some high-quality channels were filtered out and survived.
