I want to “build in public” but do people really want to see screenshots of code?

How do you build in public?

Good idea, but I suffer over writing articles and know I would never find the time. I’m thinking of trying maybe short 60 second screen captures of interesting workflows/tools/packages/techniques. What do you think?

Honestly the vast majority of building in public comes down to devlogs and screenshots. Can always open source your code but 99.9% of people aren't going to be too interested in reading it.

Personally I think sporadic devlog summaries (i.e: medium articles) coupled with screenshots/vids work great.

Building in public is the opposite of stealth mode. Say what you are building, get feedback, release early, get more feedback. By the time it’s “released” there is already a community around it.
