Charles Kennedy "Cain's First Crime"

An Old Testament family is relaxing on the river bank. The first child of Adam and Eve amuses himself by catching lizards and feeding them to a large bird of prey. The reptile, grabbed by a plump child's palm, resists, but the bird's beak is getting closer. Cain is too small, and his ideas about good and evil have not yet had time to form properly. From birth, having no pity for living beings and not cultivating this feeling in himself, he will remain in history as a fratricide.

The parents do not stop their son. Adam looks at the scene with sadness. Perhaps he longingly remembers the abundant time spent in the blessed Eden. Eve sits, leaning her back on the huge skull of an unknown animal. Her look and posture also indicate deep immersion in her own thoughts. The only one who tries to stop what is happening is the baby struggling on the ground. Tiny Abel is trying his best to pull his hand towards his brother, but the family does not notice his protest.
