SEC, CFTC to Collaborate on Cryptocurrency Regulation

🔸 The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) are reportedly considering reviving their joint advisory committee to regulate crypto.

🔸 According to Fox Business, the committee, which was established in 2010 and has been inactive for more than a decade, is set to take a more collaborative approach to regulating the crypto industry in the new era.

🔸 The development comes after recent changes at both agencies; the SEC has shown a new approach to digital assets by forming a digital currency task force led by Hester Peirce and the CFTC has nominated pro-cryptocurrency Brian Quintenz as chairman
