blows my mind how many people can't teach their dogs basic things like not pulling the leash

makes you worried about kids they raise

Inriguing observation by kia. Yes, we did not (manage to) teach our dog to not pull the leash. Also because he mostly walks off the leash.
And...
well, although I not always fully agree, basically everybody who gets to know our kids tells us how well behaved they are. Especially compared to their peers. 
So, there you go. Maybe people who do not teach their dogs how not to pull the leash do raise kids that are very well behaved?
Or maybe one has nothing to do with the other?
Or, it's all situational and it's impossible to make a general rule?
