'operator' is an exonym VCs use it to refer to others those 'operators' don't use that word to refer to themselves

Nah, the Ambush cap guys have told me they’re operators and they def are. Former Bison trails founders (acqd by Coinbase). If it’s a former founder I’ll let it slide. @osprey was def an operator in his framework days

that's besides the point i'm not making a statement about which individual VC has done what i'm simply saying the term 'operator' is an exonym -- a name for a place or group of people that is only used outside that place or group 'operators' don't refer to themselves or each other as such. only VCs use the term to refer to them. i'll bet you, the said former founders only started referring to themselves as former 'operators' when they became investors not when they were actually 'operating'.
